When searching for the perfect family summer getaway, it can be difficult to decide where to go, but Malaysia is the perfect place for a family vacation with more than 25 million tourists visiting this amazing country annually (Malaysia Tourism Statistics in Brief). Located in Southeast Asia, Malaysia is a land of fascinating diversity and intriguing culture and heritage. The country is largely made up of three major ethnic groups: Malays, Chinese, and Indians. Malaysia offers endless attractions to explore and is well known for its cool Highlands. Malaysia also boasts many of the most beautiful and exotic islands in the world, with many visitors flocking there each year. Redang Island is just one of the islands that offer soft, white sandy beaches and crystal clear blue water, all surrounded by breathtaking rainforests. Kuala Lumpur is the capital city, which is the economic and business centre of the country. It is recognised by its large worldwide hotel chains, urban tourism, culture and shopping, all at relatively low costs. It is known as one of the most visited cities in Asia. My own experience has led me to believe that spending a few days at Genting Highland, Terengganu’s Island of Redang, and the vibrant city of Kuala Lumpur would be the perfect vacation for any family.

Genting Highland is a mountain resort located 51km Northeast of Kuala Lumpur. (“Genting Highlands.” Wikipedia). It is about an hour and a half drive from Kuala Lumpur International Airport and is situated 1,865 meters above sea level. Genting is a popular tourist destination, with its breath-taking views of surrounding tropical rainforests and cool weather. It is clear why it is also very popular with the locals.
